Donor recognition is a key part of the Supreme Council's several planned giving programs, including pledges.

Numerous members and friends have asked us if we have a pledge program. The answer is a resounding YES! The Scottish Rite Foundation, Southern Jurisdiction, USA, Inc. and the House of the Temple Historic Preservation Foundation, Inc., now accept pledges as part of our fine Donor Recognition Program.

Pledges may be up to five years, and a convenient pledge form is provided at the conclusion of this article. You will be recognized according to the Scottish Rite Donor Recognition Program for the full amount of your pledge at the time you make your commitment. For example, if you pledge $2000 for each of five years, the Scottish Rite Donor Recognition Program will immediately recognize your $10,000 commitment. We will display a bronze nameplate in the Hall of Recognition, and your name will be inscribed in the Gold Book of Recognition. At the $10,000 giving level, you will also receive a beautiful Scottish Rite crystal vase for your wonderful support. A complete description of the Scottish Donor Recognition Program is included in this article.

The program is constantly adding new names to the Gold Book of Recognition and new names are being displayed with beautiful bronze nameplates in the Hall of Recognition. We are also in the process of displaying new oil portraits in the Scottish Rite Hall of Honor in the House of the Temple in Washington, D.C. Ill. Sam E. Hilburn, 33°, S.G.I.G. in Texas and Grand Treasurer General of the Supreme Council, and Ill. John Glenn, 33°, N.M.J., famous astronaut, are the most recent additions, leaving space in this prestigious place of honor for only seven more portraits.

Names are inscribed in the Gold Book of Recognition located in the Library of the Supreme Council, on bronze nameplates in the Hall of Recognition, on prominently displayed portraits in the Hall of Honor, and on bronze plaques in the Pillars of Charity.

Our Donor Recognition Program acknowledges direct gifts of cash and securities, approved real estate, contributions to the Scottish Rite Foundation Pooled Income Fund, the Scottish Rite Foundation Charitable Gift Annuity Program, Charitable Remainder Trusts, life insurance, and bequests through wills. Let us know if we can answer any questions regarding the Scottish Rite Donor Recognition Program. We wish to thank all of our donors for their support and for helping the children we are serving throughout America.
