A Brother expresses his gratitude upon being elected an Inspector General Honorary.

When I turned 21 years old, I petitioned Freemasonry and was received. I was elected, examined, and passed. Then, I was reexamined, determined proficient, and raised. As an Officer, I was appointed and elected. I have opened and closed; conducted and coached; presided, conferred, questioned, and answered. I have served, granted and willed; installed and presented; propounded and transacted. I have proposed and opposed; overseen and exercised. My 18 years of being Secretary of the Lodge finds me reporting and transacting, remitting and demitting. I have suspended and restored; accepted and rejected; collected, endorsed, and corresponded. I have accounted, consolidated, rendered, and recorded. I have transmitted and transferred. Additionally, I have graduated, been knighted, appreciated, humbled, and addressed. I have been saddened, assigned, established, chartered, and invested.

But, never before have I been so impressed, elated, and overwhelmed as when I was designated and coroneted as an Inspector General Honorary, 33°, Scottish Rite Freemason. I will never forget that day as long as I live. I thank you for the opportunity and the honor.

My family presented me with my dad's 33° ring. It is inscribed with the date exactly 10 years ago that he received the 33°. My initials and date are engraved next to his. I will wear that ring with personal pleasure and fraternal honor as long as I live.
