About the Friends

The Friends of the Library was formed in 1992. Its creation was inspired by Past Sovereign Grand Commander C. Fred Kleinknecht, who envisioned the Friends as the wheel of the Library's existence, dedicated to promoting awareness of the Library in the Masonic community and raising funds for the Library's special needs. By encouraging interest in its collections, services, and programs the members act as goodwill ambassadors for this renown institutions. The Friends sponsors a number of activities, from lectures and conferences to plays and fundraising events. One of the latest such events is the Amicus Quarterly, a newsletter with information about Library events, articles and ideas for and about the Friends.
