There is a rear elevator for wheelchair and/or handicapped access. Please ring the back doorbell, and guides will escort you to the atrium.

Service animals are welcome.

Baby strollers can be used in a majority of the building.

Please let us know if you need other assistance.

Tips for Visiting

Before You Come . . . plan ahead!

Use this information to assist in planning your trip:

  • The early mornings are the least busy. If you would like to spend a little extra time on your tour, or you want a quick tour, just let your guide know your preferences.
  • Although accessible by elevators, our building has several impressive staircases. Wear comfortable shoes so you can get the most of your tour by using the stairs.
  • Bring a camera! The House of the Temple is a one of a kind architectural masterpiece. You are welcome to take photos in the entire building except the Hoover collection (which can be photographed with arranged permission).
  • Avoid the hassle of searching for a parking space, use public transportation. Buses and the Metro run nearby. Taxis are also easy to catch to our location.
  • Don’t forget our gift shop! All items found in our on-line Scottish Rite Store are available for sale at the House of the Temple.
