THE SHEPHERD SCHOLARSHIP

Masonic background not required, but this program is available to United States citizens only for study at schools within the U.S.

Shepherd Scholarships of $1,500 per year towards tuition costs, for a maximum of four years or upon earning a degree if that be sooner, are offered by the Supreme Council each year to United States citizens only, studying in accredited schools in the United States. The number of scholarships awarded is dependent upon the earnings of the Shepherd Scholarship Fund. The objective of this scholarship is to aid worthy candidates in obtaining baccalaureate or graduate degrees in fields associated with service to country and generally perceived as benefiting the human race.

Selections will be made each year during the month of April. Selectees will be those who are best qualified by dedication, ambition, academic preparation, financial need, and promise of outstanding performance at the advanced level. Final selections and appointments will be at the sole discretion and determination of the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council.

It will be helpful if each candidate has shown sincere interest in and taken an active part in social, civic, religious, and fraternal activities of the community. Before any payments are made, applicants must be accepted for enrollment at accredited institutions of higher learning that are authorized to grant degrees in the selected fields of study.

Applications must be received each year by the Director of Education, the Supreme Council, 33°, 1733 Sixteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20009-3103, on or before APRIL 1.
