Our foundation, established and incorporated under federal regulations as a public foundation for benevolent and educational purposes, is authorized to take and hold under bequest, devise, gift, purchase or lease, either absolutely or in trust, any property, real or personal.

All foundation funds will be used in a way that will best advance the causes and principles for which the foundation was created. The main thrust of the foundation is providing support for the treatment of children with communication disorders, that is, aphasia, dyslexia, and a number of other related language and learning problems. Another objective is funding scholarships, especially in the area of childhood learning disorders and for doctoral work in the field of public school administration. To raise funds for its activities, the foundation encourages contributions, gifts, or bequests from those who wish to give to the causes it espouses.

The federal government has qualified the foundation as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization exempt from federal and state income tax. Therefore contributions to the foundation as gifts and bequests are deductible to the full extent of the law for federal income tax purposes as well as for federal estate tax and state inheritance and gift tax purposes. Gifts and bequests should be designated as follows:

SCOTTISH RITE FOUNDATION,
SOUTHERN JURISDICTION, U.S.A., INC.

We invite correspondence with those who are interested in making donations to the foundation and who desire further information.
